Campbell Walker provided a massive spark during the second half with 44 ranking points, while Kenny Ong showed pure class by racking up 4 clearances. Our dominance in the forward half proved decisive as we generated 61 inside 50s throughout the afternoon. It was a resilient effort that showcased the true character of this football club.
The opening term saw us under immediate pressure as De La Salle surged ahead to lead by 19 points. We rallied brilliantly during the second quarter, finding our rhythm and structure to completely flip the momentum. Hugh Johnson proved vital in that period with 4 clearances as the side clawed back every bit of the deficit. Our sustained pressure meant Collegians headed into the main break with a well-earned 11 point lead.
Trailing by 4 points at three quarter time, the team faced a massive test of nerve against a determined opponent. We showed immense maturity in the final term as our leaders stepped up to reclaim control of the contest. The side absolutely held firm when it mattered most, restricting De La Salle to just 1 goal in the final stanza. Collegians kicked 3 crucial goals to seal the result and secure the 4 points in a thrilling finish.
